A SPECIAL performance from the Royal Ballet will be being screened live in Cardigan.
Royal Ballet’s performance of Cinderella will be screened live at Cardigan’s Mwldan on April 16. The ballet’s production was created by Royal Ballet founder Frederick Ashton 75 years ago, with the opening night in 1948 starring Moira Shearer and Michael Somes.
The production has not been performed by the Royal Ballet for more than a decade but returns with Mr Ashton’s choreography, a fantastic score by Prokofiev and a creative team who brings the magic of Cinderella’s world of fairy godmothers, pumpkin carriages and handsome princes to life.
The performance is based on Charles Perrault’s famous story which charts Cinderella’s rise from rags to riches as she falls in love with a prince who finds her captivating.
Royal Ballet’s Cinderella is rated 12A and will be screened at Mwldan at 2pm on Sunday, April 16. Tickets cost £17 or £16 for concessions and can be bought at www.mwldan.co.uk or by calling 01239 621200.
