A MAN has admitted attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Steven Farmer, 26, of Rowton, Telford, admitted three charges at Swansea Crown Court on March 29.

The offences all took place in Tregaron and relate to the same victim.

Farmer has been charged with one count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child under the age of 16, in relation to communication of a sexual nature sent to the child between June 9, 2022, and July 14, 2022.

He is also charged with one count of attempting to cause or incite a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity which relates to the same period.

He is also charged with a count of attempting to cause a child under the age of 13 to look at an image of sexual activity on June 30, 2022.

Farmer admitted all three charges and a pre-sentence report has been ordered to help with sentencing.

He has been granted conditional bail, which includes having to reside at his residence in Telford, not to use a device capable of using the internet unless the data can be saved on it and to make it available to police on request and to not have any unsupervised contact with any person under the age of 18 unless in the unavoidable course of everyday life, and with an exception to his child.

Farmer is due to be sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on April 24.
