THERE is less than a week for Ceredigion residents to apply for help with fuel bills.
Applications to Ceredigion County Council for the Winter Fuel Support Scheme will close on February 28.
The scheme provides eligible households with a £200 one-off payment to help with fuel costs.
More than 6,500 residents have received their payments but time is running out for those who are yet to apply.

Councillor Gareth Davies, cabinet member with responsibility for finance and procurement services, said: “It’s encouraging that many Ceredigion residents have already taken advantage of this important scheme.
“I would like to encourage anyone who thinks they might be eligible to check the qualifying criteria and apply before the closing date on February 28, and to tell their friends and family.”
The Winter Fuel Support Scheme was launched by the Welsh Government and is open to households where the applicant or partner is responsible for paying for energy bills and is receiving benefits.
An applicant may be eligible if they or their partner are liable for the fuel bills but do not receive benefits but have someone living in the household who does.
Applications must be made by 5pm on February 28 at www.ceredigion.gov.uk/resident/benefits/winter-fuel-support-scheme and for help and advice on how to apply, call CLIC customer services on 10545 570881, email clic@ceredigion.gov.uk or visit a local library.
