A FILM society will be showing a film in Cardigan later this month.
Theatr Mwldan Film Society will screen 2022 eerie masterpiece Enys Men (rated 15) on Sunday, February 12 at Theatr Mwldan on Bath House Road, Cardigan.
The film, directed by BAFTA winner Mark Jenkin, is a Cornish film set in 1973 and is mind-bending and unsettling.
It takes place on an uninhabited island off the Cornish coast where a wildlife volunteer makes daily observations of a rare flower.
The observations take a dark turn into the strange and metaphysical, forcing her and the viewers to question what is real and what is nightmare.
Filmed on location around the West Penwith disused tin mines, the film is an ode to Cornwall’s folklore and natural beauty.
It is shot on grainy 16mm colour film stock and has Jenkin’s trademark post-synched sound, providing an innovative and authentic nod to the time period.
Theatr Mwldan Film Society will show Enys Men at 6pm on Sunday, February 12 at Mwldan. Tickets cost £7.70 or £5.90 with Theatr Mwldan Film Society membership.
