A number of people from Tivyside have appeared in court to answer to non-driving related charges.

Kingston Edwards, 21, of Station Terrace, Lampeter, was given a suspended sentence after being resentenced for a number of offences following his failure to comply with a community order. The community order was initially made on July 27, 2021.

He was resentenced by Aberystwyth Justice Centre on June 8 for the offences. He was given a 17-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months for being in possession of a lock pick set in Aberystwyth for use in connection with theft of a mobile phone and cash. The offence took place on February 27, 2021.

He was also given eight-week sentences to run concurrently for the theft of cash between £5 and £10 which took place on February 27, for offences committed between February 26, 2021 and February 27, where he stole WH Smith Invoice/VAT book to the value of £6.99, Samsung S10 Life Mobile Phone (unknown value), cash to the value of £10 and bank statements from Nationwide, for the theft of £90 cash on February 27, 2021, for the theft of cash to the value of £5, sunglasses to the value of between £10 and £15 between February 26 and 27, 2021 and for interfering with a motor vehicle, or anything carried in or on the same with the intention that an offence of theft of the said motor vehicle or part of it or of anything carried in or on the said motor vehicle on February 27.

He also had to pay £60 costs after admitting breaching the community order.

Florence Jenkinson, 21, of College Street, Lampeter, admitted breaching a community order at Aberystwyth Justice Centre on June 1.

She breached an order that was made by the court on April 14 for failing to comply with the alcohol monitoring requirement on April 17, 19, 20 and 24, and now must comply with the following requirements by the original end date of the order October 13, 2023. New and varied requirements: Alcohol Treatment Requirement: Have treatment for alcohol dependency by or under the direction of Probation officer for 6 Months. Original requirements to continue Rehabilitation Activity Requirement, Unpaid Work Requirement. 

She also had to pay £60 costs.

Gwenfair Cardi Benjamin, 52, of North Road, Lampeter, will have two dogs destroyed after an order was granted by Aberystwyth Justice Centre on June 8.

Dyfed Powys Police made the order that two British Bulldogs named Tia and Abi will be destroyed and the owner is to be banned from keeping dogs.

She has been banned from keeping dogs for five years and will have to pay £450 costs. The dogs will be destroyed unless an appeal is lodged within 21 days of the conviction.

An order was made for money to be seized from Evan Pantea-Davies, 34, of Cwmann, Lampeter under the proceeds of crime act.

On June 13, Llanelli Magistrates Court granted Dyfed Powys Police an order for the continued detention of seized cash, to the sum of £12,500. The court allowed for the money to be kept by the force under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 for a further six months.

A warrant for arrest for community breach without bail has been issued for Dean Morgan Evans, 40, of Albert Street, Aberaeron by Aberystwyth Justice Centre on June 1 after he failed to comply with a community order.

Edyta Sikora, 47, of Llanon, Aberaeron, admitted breaching a domestic violence protection order at Aberystwyth Justice Centre on June 9.

The order was made by Swansea Magistrates Court on May 28, and she violated it on June 8 by contacting and attending the address of the person the order is in force for. She was fined £50.
