THE lives of three World War One servicemen from St Dogmaels who lost their miles fighting for Australia have been commemorated at a poignant ceremony in the village.
St Dogmaels Community Council held the Anzac Day Service on Monday to remember David John Thomas, James Lewis Thomas and John Morgan Morris.
The trio emigrated to Australia and ended up losing their lives fighting for the Australian Imperial.
The service was officiated by Rev Elizabeth Rowe, with prayers and readings by members of the council.
Those who fought and died in both World Wars along with conflicts in Korea, Vietnam, the 2nd Gulf War, and Afghanistan were also remembered.
A wreath was laid at the War Memorial following the reading of the Kohima Epitaph: 'When you go home tell them of us and say - for your tomorrow we gave our today.'
