CARDIGAN vicar Rev John Bennett is bringing to an end his 11-year tenure in the town.
He is moving to Devon at the beginning of July having been in charge of the parishes of Cardigan, with Mwnt and Y Ferwig with Llangoedmor for little over a decade.
No successor has yet been announced.
The father-of-three, who was inducted at St Mary’s Church, Cardigan, on September 13 2011, began his career in agriculture before training in the ministry at Trinity College, Bristol.
From there he came to be first curate and then team Vicar in St David's Cathedral parish.
Prior to taking over as vicar of Cardigan, Rev Bennett spent nine years in charge of Llanrhian and Llanhywel in the Cathedral parish of Dewisland.
His wife Barbara died in February 2018 and Rev Bennett has since re-married.
A keen rower and talented guitarist he has played an active role in local events.
Back in December he strongly condemned a number of vandalism attacks on Holy Cross Church in Mwnt which sparked a huge fund-raising appeal.
