ANYONE for croquet?
Members of Cardigan Croquet Club will have their mallets poised at the ready when they launch their new season at the George V Playing Fields next Friday (April 1).
The fields are now their permanent venue with the croquet lawn situated in the corner beside the children’s play area along the Gwbert Road.
The sport has managed to re-establish itself in Cardigan after mallets were last wielded there back in 1871 when the playing fields were gifted to the townsfolk.
Cardigan Croquet Club – who number Ceredigion MP Ben Lake among their members – was launched three years ago.
Membership is £20 per annum and the season runs from April 1 until October 31 - equipment is provided.
Playing time is weekday afternoons.
Ring the club secretary on 07786 568253 for further information.
All ages are welcome and no playing experience is necessary.
