TANYGROES-based distillery In The Welsh Wind are running a free science event for the community on Saturday, March 12 2022 to celebrate British Science Week.
The team at the distillery have put together a day of activities that give people the chance to learn more about the science behind how to turn barley into whisky, how yeast works, and how wood has a role to play in the distillation process.
Distillery owner and director Ellen Wakelam said: “We hope people will join us for a day that’s designed to show how science works in real life – not just how it’s taught in a classroom.”
The event will run from 9.30 until 4.30, with activities taking place in the Whisky Room.
Activities are free and do not need to be booked – under 18s do need to be accompanied by an adult.
Refreshments (non-alcoholic as well as alcoholic) will be available!
