A 39-YEAR-old Lampeter motorist – said to be a repeat offender - has been fined £660 and banned from the road for 12 months after being found guilty of having no insurance when his case came before Carmarthenshire magistrates.
Michael Jones, of Dihewyd, was said to have committed the offence by driving a BMW on the A287 at Aberystwyth on the afternoon of August 21 and the case was proved under the single justice procedure at a hearing in Llanelli.
The defendant was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 along with £90 costs and had his licence endorsed with eight penalty points.
