WHAT was described in court as a ‘sustained’ campaign of harassment against a woman has resulted in a Newcastle Emlyn man being jailed for four weeks.
Llanelli magistrates heard that defendant Ricky Brooks, 49, of Cambrian House, Sycamore Street, had committed harassment without violence of Narda Martle from August 29, 2020 to September 15, 2021 in Newcastle Emlyn which had left her in ‘distress’.
Brooks was said to have shouted ‘boo’ to her and called her a stupid woman, threatened to get rid of her garden, called her a ‘weirdo’, walked close to her and coughed in her direction, moved her ceramic cat and stood and stared at her as well as being verbally abusive and playing the radio loudly.
Brooks denied the charges - which included two separate offences of using threatening behaviour - at a hearing in October, but was convicted following a trial.
