FEARS about the planting of large numbers of spruce trees and possible resulting loss of farming land in the Preselis have been voiced at a public meeting at Hermon Hall.
The meeting was called to allow locals to voice their concerns about the purchase of Brynfa Farm,.
Speakers included local county councillor Cris Tomos, MS Cefin Campbell, Brian Thomas, of the FUW and Peter Howells, of NFU Cymru.
“Many in the audience were worried about the effect of the large amount of spruce trees and the loss of agricultural land for food production,” said a spokesperson.
“Some young people who were in attendance were also worried about not being able to find land for farming.”
During the meeting Cllr Tomos revealed people needed to express their concerns to Damian Ward, at damian.ward@cyfoethnaturiolcymru.gov.uk by November 9.
