Headteacher Rhonwen Morris has congratulated the students of Ysgol y Preseli on receiving their A-Level and Advanced Subsidary grades "at the end of a challenging year for all."

Head girl Seren Allen and head boy Thomas Elliott both achieved 4A* Grades, and Mrs Morris said the results of all the students represented "determination, resilience and perseverance."

Mrs Morris said: "Every student at Ysgol y Preseli receiving their A Level and Advanced Subsidiary grades today should be proud of their efforts, and we congratulate them on their achievements. 

"At the end of a challenging year for all, we wish every student the very best as they progress to higher or further Education, apprenticeships or employment. 

"The students’ exceptional results reflect their determination, resilience and perseverance. 

"The grades also reflect the hard work of staff who have worked diligently to determine the grades this year, whilst also supporting the students both personally and academically during an unprecedented academic year. 

"As Headteacher, I would like to thank current Year 13 students, as the final A Level cohort of Ysgol y Preseli before the establishment of Ysgol Bro Preseli in April 2022, for their exceptional contributions and commitment to every aspect of school life. 

"I am confident that they will go on to be valuable, bilingual and principled members of society."

Seren Allen, Head Girl of Ysgol y Preseli was awarded 4A* Grades and will be going on to study Neuroscience at Bristol University.

She said: "I feel ecstatic having opened my results envelope this morning especially given how difficult and challenging the past years have been. 

"The hard work and perseverance has all been worth it and I will forever be grateful to the school for their support, which has enabled me to achieve these results."

Thomas Elliott, Head Boy of Ysgol y Preseli, was also awarded 4A* Grades and will be going on to study Medicine at Queen Mary University, London.

He said: "Coming in to collect my results this morning and seeing everyone, teachers and pupils has been a lovely way of signing off on what has been a tough year. 

"This has been a brilliant school experience for me. I would like to thank all the teachers who have supported me and allowed me to reach my full potential."

Headteacher Mrs Morris added: "I would also like to take this opportunity to thank parents and guardians for their continuous support and co-operation during the last year. 

"I am also indebted to the Governing Body for their ongoing commitment and support."
