A COURT case of a man convicted of breaching coronavirus lockdown regulations is to be reopened.
Karel Chalupa, of Delta Drive, Pinkie Braes, Musselburgh had been convicted at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court of being away from the place where he was living during the emergency period without a reasonable excuse.
It is alleged the 45-year-old had travelled to Glandwr, Hebron, on May 6 last year with another man to do volunteering work and set up a tent on community land. No volunteer wok was available at that time.
The conviction and sentence imposed by the Llanelli court on October 28 will now be set aside and the case adjourned until March 10 for plea and submissions. If no plea is entered by Chalupa, magistrates may proceed in his absence.
