THE new mayor of Cardigan has reached out across the coronvirus lockdown to send an upbeat message to his counterpart in the French twin town of Brioude.
Cllr Clive Davies has written to Brioude's newly-elected mayor Jean-Luc Vachelard wishing them good health and looking forward to future twinning trips.
Cardigan and Brioude celebrate 50 years of twinning in 2022 and plans are already being made to stage some form of summer event celebrating that anniversary.
Cllr Davies wrote: "Like Brioude , Cardigan is also in a formal lockdown with numerous restrictions to protect our citizens from this global pandemic.
"I would hope that we will once more be able to enjoy the company of our friends in Brioude in the near future.
"Wishing you and the citizens of Brioude good health during these difficult times."
