FORMER royal harpist Claire Jones will be returning to her home patch this spring for a special fundraising concert.
The former pupil at Ysgol y Preseli, Crymych, who was official harpist to Prince Charles from 20017 to 2011 will bring the Claire Jones Concert Ensemble to Cardigan in a special St David's Day event.
This ensemble provides unique and high profile performance opportunities and life experience for many young harpists and is one of the UK's leading harp ensembles.
Their flair and passion has enthralled audiences in both the UK and America.
It includes young professionals, scholars from some of London's leading conservatoires such as the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music, National Youth ensembles and national award winners from the National Eisteddfod of Wales.
Founders and musical directors Claire Jones and partner Chris Marshall are passionate and committed to achieving the very highest level from this ensemble, and concerts are unique, diverse, and showcase many multi-instrumentalists within the ensemble.
Repertoire is extremely varied and includes well known favourites from the world of classical, traditional, film and popular music arranged by Chris Marshall.
The ensemble will also be sharing the proceeds of this special event with Cylch Meithrin Crymych, who sadly suffered flooding last year and are very reliant on support from donations to help with the everyday running of the school.
The evening at Cardigan's Cliff Hotel will commence at 7pm, there will be a three-course meal of cawl, roast dinner and dessert.
The evening entertainment will be provided by Claire herself, the UK’s best-selling classical harpist, West End percussionist Chris Marshall, the Concert Ensemble and some very special surprise guests.
