CARDIGAN River and Food Festival proved a big success as the crowds flocked through the gates at the weekend.
Now in its 20th year, the event on the banks of the Teifi celebrates the quality and diversity of the local independent food producers in the area.
And this year was no different, with a crowd estimated to be more than 5,000 sampling the tasty treats on offer at Quay Street car park, ranging from honey and cheese to local ales and fish.
As well as the food and drink on offer, there was also cookery demonstrations, musical entertainment, while on the river an RNLI demonstration, long boat racing, paddle boarding and sailing boats and dinghies from Teifi Boating Club.
A spokesman for organisers Menter Aberteifi said: “The weather was kind to us after rain early in the morning and there was a great atmosphere throughout the day.”
There was also a knock-on effect throughout the rest of the town, with the streets busy and local shops, cafes and other businesses also cashing in on the success of the festival.
Ben Robbins, from Tonnau Surf, at Pendre, said: “We had a good day and it’s good to see events like this drawing people into the town and raising the profile of Cardigan.”
