OPENING her own business is a 'dream come true' for a green-fingered St Dogmaels woman.

Lynne Fischer this week launched her Plants from Poppit business from her home at Domus, opposite the beach at Poppit Sands.

"It has been a hectic seven weeks or so to get here. It is something I have wanted to do for the past few years and I am delighted to finally get going," said Lynne.

"I have been growing plants for about 20 years and to finally launch my own business is a dream come true."

After gaining qualifications in garden design and from the Royal Horticultural Society, Linda has been a familiar face at plant fairs around the area over the years.

“I love playing with plants – it’s just me I suppose,” she said.

She hopes to offer something different to the larger garden centres, with a more personal service, with everything from succulents, bedding plants, grasses and herbs to alpines and vegetables

"I am looking to offer plants that will come back year after year and will last,” added Lynne.

"My ethos is to grow the plants here at Poppit from seeds and cuttings and not to buy in the plants. I want plants that will thrive and people to come back year after year.”

Lynne will be open from 10am-3pm on Wednesday and Friday and 7.30am-3pm on Thursday, "though if I am about and people see me as they go by, they are more than welcome to pop in," she added.
