Cadwgan Trust chair Jann Tucker has been awarded the MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
The award is for service to heritage in Ceredigion. Jann was one of the four founder members of Cadwgan Trust and has chaired the body for the past decade, steering it through its successful £11m grant bid for the restoration of Cardigan Castle.
She told the Tivy-Side: "This is for the project and everyone that has worked so hard over the years."
She added she was thinking particularly of founder trustees the late Trevor Griffiths and Gareth Davies plus castle stalwarts Gwynfi Jenkins and Fr Seamus Cunnane.
Jann, who runs a holiday accommodation business in Aberporth, is also a community councillor and has been high profile in promoting tourism in the county. She is also a member of Aberporth village hall committee and is instrumental in organising the annual carnival in the village.
She is married to Tony and has two daughters and four grandsons.
