A PETITION calling for local bus services to be replaced has been launched by Ceredigion’s MP.
Following Arriva’s announcement that it was to axe several bus services in the county in December, Mark Williams is calling on the Welsh Government and Ceredigion County Council to ensure a like for like replacement is put in place as quickly as possible.
The petition has had a positive response both online, at http://bit.ly/CeredigionBuses, and on doorsteps across Ceredigion with more than 1,000 signatures already collected.
MrWilliams said: "I have been overwhelmed by the strength of feeling in Ceredigion about Arriva's decision.
“To have collected so many signatures on this petition in such a short time is really exceptional."
For a hard copy of the petition call Mark Williams’ office on 01970 627 721.
Mr Williams added: “I would also encourage anyone who has not yet signed the petition to do so and add their voice."
