AROUND 20 members of two volunteer schemes run by Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner Christopher Salmon are to attend a seminar at Police Headquarters.
They offer their time to either the Animal Welfare Lay Visitor scheme or the Independent Custody Visiting (ICV) scheme.
Mr Salmon, who will speak at the October 9 event, wishes to thank volunteers from across Dyfed-Powys for their efforts and to allow them to meet specialists and share ideas.
Mr Salmon said: “Volunteers play an enormously important role in the wellbeing and safety of communities across Dyfed-Powys.
“These two schemes managed by my office are among the many that highlight the valuable contribution made by volunteers.”
The Animal Welfare Lay Visitor scheme helps to ensure that the welfare of police dogs is given due attention and that their handling is effective, humane, ethical and transparent.
The Independent Custody Visiting scheme sees volunteers check on the condition of police cells to help check on the welfare of detainees and conditions in custody.
