OVER £600 was raised last week as nearly forty people took part in a sponsored one mile wheel in wheelchairs across Clynfyw Farm, in Abercych, north Pembrokeshire. ‘This money was raised on the barbecue, tea stand, craft stall and the raffle,’ said Jim Bowen, Clynfyw Care Farm manager. ‘The actual sponsorship money is still coming in and we are optimistic we will clear £1000. We are so grateful for all the support we have had from everyone involved from raffle prize donors, those who took part in the wheel and volunteers on the day. It really was a great effort!’
The Wheelie Good Idea is one of eight microenterprises running at Clynfyw Care Farm, which supports vulnerable people through meaningful enterprise, learning and personal development. Their first shipping container of refurbished wheelchairs and mobility aids is due to go off to South Africa at the end of October.
