STANDING out in a crowded field of young talent, the young pianist Alexandra Dariescu will be giving the first recital of the season for The Peter Gould Music Trust. Named BBC Music Magazine ‘Rising Star’, she is also the first pianist to be mentored by Imogen Cooper through the Royal Philharmonic Society/YCAT Philip Langridge Mentoring Scheme.
Her exciting programme consists of some of the best loved music of the piano repertoire. Commencing with Beethoven’s sparkling Sonata Op 10 No 2, she continues with one of Scarlatti’s many Sonatas, Schumann’s youthful Fantasiestucke Op 12 and ends the evening with the magnificent Twenty-four Preludes Op 28 by Chopin
This recital takes place at Theatr Mwldan on Saturday 12th October at 7.30. Tickets £12 (£10) £1 under 22 are available from the Box Office (01239 621200) or on line at wwwmwldan.co.uk.
