LIBERAL Democrat members in Ceredigion have overwhelmingly selected Elizabeth Evans to be their candidate for the 2016 Assembly.

Elizabeth was born and raised in Aberaeron and has worked as Senior Caseworker to Mark Williams MP since 2005.

In 2008 she was elected as County Councillor for Aberaeron and was re-elected with a large majority in 2012. Elizabeth Evans was also the Assembly Candidate during the 2011 elections.

She said: "I'm delighted that the membership in Ceredigion have given me another opportunity to be their candidate in the Assembly Elections.

"On so many issues I believe that the Welsh Government have let us down, from rural broadband, to health and social care, to rural transport, they have failed to deliver the investment and services that we need here in Ceredigion."

Mark Williams, Liberal Democrat MP for Ceredigion said: "I'm excited that Elizabeth will be standing again after the excellent progress she made at the last election. Her record of hard work for local people as a Ceredigion Councillor and as my Senior Caseworker is there for all to see."

Mike Woods, Chairman of the Liberal Democrat Campaign Committee added: "The Liberal Democrats in Ceredigion campaign all year round. This year alone our volunteers have spoken to thousands of people, from right across Ceredigion about the issues that matter to them.

"What we need is a strong Liberal Voice in the Assembly, fighting for our needs. That is exactly what Elizabeth Evans will do."
