A SCHEME has been launched to provide funding for emergency repairs and minor adaptations in Ceredigion homes.
Ceredigion County Council is offering funding through grants and interest free loans for local houses.
Funding is available for Fast Track Minor Adaptations to provide minor and/or emergency adaptations for the elderly and disabled. There is a grant of up to £400, which is not means tested, for works including handrails, grab rails, lever taps.
This is accompanied with a grant up to the value of £3,000 plus VAT and fees, which is available for serious, unexpected and potentially dangerous situations.
Client must be over 70 years old and an owner occupier or tenant with life interest/long lease. Clients aged 18 to 70 are also eligible to apply, but must be in receipt of a means tested benefit.
The interest free Emergency Repair Loan is available for owner occupiers or tenants with a life interest / long lease and is not means tested or age restrictive.
The maximum amount available is £5,000, repayable over five years.
