CARDIGAN Soroptimists warmly thank everyone who generously supported their Coffee Morning in the Guildhall on 21st September, raising just over £400 to be donated to local charities at the end of their financial year. This particular Saturday marked United Nations International Day of Peace which Soroptimist Patricia Ford highlighted with a message from UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon which emphasized “the importance of educating children to value tolerance and mutual respect to foster global citizenship and build peaceful societies” – a motion supported by Soroptimists worldwide. Implementing a request by Ban Ki-Moon, Patricia lit a Candle for Peace and asked for a minute’s reflection at mid-day.
