A LOCAL cancer charity has benefited to the tune of £3,551 thanks to regulars at a Cardigan town centre public house.
Customers at the Hope & Anchor took part in four events in aid of the Cardigan Cancer Care charity.
Pub-goers undertook a sponsored walk from Crymych to Cardigan, ran a tombola stall, held a Pub Olympics and sponsored waxing of a male customer.
At a presentation ceremony in the hostelry a jumbo-sized cheque was presented to Anne Davies and Helen Andrews of Cardigan Cancer Care when there was a special thanks to Phil John of Barclays Bank in Cardigan where the bank's pound for pound scheme raised an extra £750.
Pub licensee Helen Lewis said “We would like to thank everyone who contributed in any way to the success of the events which resulted in a substantial sum being raised for a very worthy cause.”
