A LOCAL man accused of intending to pervert the course of justice and possession of cannabis is due to appear at crown court this month.

Aled David Davies, aged 30, 1 Llys Puw, Drefach Felindre, Llandysul, did not enter any plea when he appeared before Aberystwyth magistrates on Wednesday.

He faces a charge of making a statement reporting a theft of a vehicle which he knew had not been stolen, which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice, on November 20 at Tanygroes.

He is also charged with possession of 1.4 grammes of cannabis between November 16 and 19 last year.

Davies was released on unconditional bail, and is due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on September 27.
