Dear Editor,
At 4.12pm on September 4th, I entered the Priory Court car park in Cardigan , run by 4CG. I then went to the parking meter machine run by Parking Eye Car Park Management to pay 30 pence for half an hour's parking. Yet when I attempted to enter my car registration into the machine, the latter did not register it. I tried five or six times , each time following the instructions, and pressing buttons carefully. Not once did my car registration appear, or did I get a peep out of that machine !! I tried putting money in......nothing worked ! There was no car park attendant present. So I left to call at my bank, which was closing at 4.30 pm.I had an important appointment.
When I returned to the car , there was still no-one around, so I simply drove off.
Lo and behold ! On September 12th , a letter arrived in the post from Parking Eye, telling me that I owe them £100 for not paying for a parking ticket at Priory Court. Marvellous !! [ By the way, I have ALWAYS paid to park there !!]
The following day, I phoned the number on the letter, but all I got was no live human being [of course] , but several recorded methods of extracting £100 from my pocket for half an hour's parking. ...... NO CHANCE !!
Parking Eye and that machine are a complete menace !! Suffice to say , I will NOT be paying £100 ......or £60 !! THEIR MACHINE WAS SIMPLY NOT WORKING !!
If they want to send the bailiffs around after he's left the previous complainant , Mr Fletcher of Moylegrove ........then carry on !!
They've got a better chance of putting a giant wind turbine next to Cardigan Golf Course than they have of obtaining £100 from me !!
According to this firm Parking Eye,
A ticket from them I should buy !!
But when my details were "put" ,
Their machine was KAPUT !!
That's a FACT !!.......I'm not telling a LIE !!
