A CELEBRATORY atmosphere prevailed at the recent meeting of Cardigan Theatre, as the group gathered to present a cheque to Macmillan Cancer Support. The cheque, in the sum of £1,020 was presented to Sue Reece, Area Fundraising Manager representing Macmillan, by the cast of the Calendar Girls, the runaway hit for the company last year. Accepting the cheque raised from the takings at the show, Sue Reece, told the gathering of members of Cardigan Theatre and friends, that such gifts from groups in the community were what enabled Macmillan to do the important work it does. She thanked them for thinking of donating the money to Macmillan, and outlined how the money would be spent, in assisting with families handling the difficult expenses and traumatic experiences of dealing with serious and potentially terminal illness. The cast of the play held sunflowers, and presented Ms Reece with a bunch of them.
