A LOCAL mother-of three is preparing to take on a challenge of a lifetime in memory of her father this month.
Sandra Richards McNally, Director of Services at Inspiration Lifestyle Services, which has facilities in Pencader and Plwmp, lost her father in April, after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer in November last year.
She decided she wanted to do something to help and support other people and families dealing with cancer.
Sandra made the decision to get involved in this enormous challenge before her dad passed away and he was her biggest supporter for her courage and determination.
Sandra is taking part in this gruelling challenge with Rhod Gilbert, Iolo Williams, Martin Williams, Sian Cothi and many others to raise funds for Velindre Cancer Centre.
She said: “I’ve been training hard to succeed, and thanks to sponsored membership from Dean at D12 Fitness in Pensarn and the extreme patience of personal trainer Matthew “Peachy” Williams I am as ready as I`m going to be to face this enormous 19,341 feet challenge. ”
So far Sandra has raised £4,800.
She added: “I have a great family, fantastic friends and colleagues but I just can’t believe how generous everyone has been, I’ve been sponsored by people who have never even met me it’s amazing!”
