A TEAM of 19 employees from specialist healthcare company BTG rasied £2,576 for charity when they walked across the highest peaks in the Brecon Beacons as part of the Trekfest Challenge.
The team from BTG’s Ffostrasol's manufacturing facility are passionate about getting out and enjoying the countryside so Wales Air Ambulance is a charity that is close to their hearts.
BTG’s site in Wales manufactures a number of products used in emergency medicine including a treatment for rattlesnake envenomation and an antidote for toxicity associated with the use of a commonly used heart medication.
The Trekfest challenge, organised by Global Adventures, involved either a 27 mile trek to be completed within 12 hours or a 54 mile trek to be completed within 24 hours.
Participants are grateful to those who sponsored them.
Event organiser Sarah Harris said: “The event was a fantastic team building opportunity, not only allowing us all to have fun and keep fit but also raise money for a charity which means a lot to us. I was very proud of the team for completing the trek and we look forward to a similar challenge next year!”
Fundraising manager Mark Stevens said: “We’re very thankful for the support and effort BTG have gone through to raise money for us.
“Our paramedics rely on medicine and pharmaceuticals in order to save lives, so having employees of a company who make this possible supporting us means a lot.”
