NEW bilingual leaflets, produced by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, highlight the wonderful wildlife that can be found in the county, and the best places to spot it.

The six free leaflets, which feature details on rockpooling, sea birds, seals, pond dipping, bats and crabs, include detailed maps, fun facts and jokes about each subject.

National Park Interpretation Officer Rebecca Evans said: “These leaflets are a fantastic resource and are designed to help families discover the fascinating wildlife we have here in Pembrokeshire.

“We hope they will encourage people to get out there and learn more about our wildlife and do that in a responsible way, so that everyone can enjoy the diverse range of living things that inhabit our National Park.”

The leaflets include advice on any equipment you may need and provide safety tips to ensure that the National Park’s creatures and natural features are left for others to enjoy.

There are also details on the best time of day and the best time of year to spot the different types of wildlife, suggesting rockpooling on the beaches at low tide in the warmer months and noting that seals pups can be spotted around our shores from September to November.

The publications are not limited to coastal exploration, so if you want a change from the beach, there are also leaflets on pond dipping and how best to spot bats in their natural habitat.
