SMITH Sqn Ldr Stan The family are sad to announce the passing of Squadron Leader Stanley Cyril Smith (MBE) of Llwyncelyn Road, Cilgerran on Sunday 12th May 2024 aged 98 years. Formerly of the Royal Navy (1943-1956), Royal Air Force (1956- 1978) and R.A.E. Aberporth (1978-1990). Recipient of the Legion D'Honneur for his service commanding a tank-landing craft with the initial assault wave on D-Day. Loving husband to his beloved late wife Emily, he is survived by his children Pamela, Philip and Barbara, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The funeral will held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth on Wednesday 29th May at 2.30 pm. The family request no flowers.
