Rev. Canon James Joseph (Seamus) Cunnane Peacefully at his home Caer Maria, Cardigan, on Wednesday, 6th October 2021, aged 92 years. Beloved brother of Joan and brother-in-law Pat and uncle to his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Kathleen, Una, Maria and his brother Frank and his dear friend and housekeeper Joan Pemberton. A loyal Servant of the Diocese of Menevia since 1955 and a true pastor to his parishioners and deeply regretted by the clergy of the Diocese, his family and the people of Cardigan. He was an expert chess player whose cats were all named after Grand Masters, and was a highly respected historian with a passionate and deep knowledge of the history of Cardigan and of the Diocese of Menevia. Canon Seamus' body will be received into the Church of Our Lady of the Taper, Cardigan at 6 p.m. on Friday 15th October, 2021. His requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 16th October 2021 at 11.00 am followed by burial at Cardigan Town Cemetery. May his dear soul rest in peace.
