Published on 24/08/2021
Pel (John Peregrine) Rayner Pel died peacefully at home surrounded by his family and after a long illness on 19th August 2021, aged 74 years. Pel will be most sadly missed, he was very much loved by many including his wife Cheryl, his children, his grandchildren, his brother, sister, nephews, nieces and family and friends, across the world. Pel will be buried at Llawhaden church at one of his favourite spots overlooking the river. We will celebrate Pel's life in the eclectic, adventurous, kind, pensive and individual way that he lived - from his birth in New South Wales, through his early childhood in Singapore, boarding school days in England; his adult life roaming from London to California, to settle in the wilds of West Wales, then Australia again; and returning later to a more civilized life in Pembrokeshire, still enjoying many globe-trotting holidays. The funeral will be on 3rd September 2021 at 11am, at St Aidans church, Llawhaden, SA67 8DG, all welcome. Please wear a face mask. Donations in memory of Pel can be made to 'Parkinson's UK', please send these directly to funeral directors Paul Jenkins & Sons, Feidr Castell, Fishguard, SA65 9BB (01348 873250).
