It has been a joy and an honour to have known Idris. His passion to record and preserve the history and folklore of the Cardigan area in his four books and his incredible map of the Teifi River will serve as everlasting memorials. We will miss him.

Sad to hear of Idris’ passing. Our father (Rudi Maehrlein) and Idris worked together many years on the post. Also fond memories whenever Idris came to shop at Wilson’s. A true Cardigan resident and Welsh man, always full of storIes and historical facts. With condolences from both the Maehrlein and Wilson families. RIP Mr. Mathias
