LOCAL playwright Derek Webb has two comedies on at 4U/TheatrGwaun on Friday October 11.
‘Losing It’ and ‘CCTV’ are being performed by Clarbeston Road Players who had a recent hit with one of Webb’s other comedies: ‘Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders’.
Both plays were originally performed as part of the Lunchtime Theatre season in the Grand Theatre in Swansea by Fluellen Theatre Company who themselves are returning to 4U with their latest Shakespeare offering – the rollicking comedy Merry Wives of Windsor on October 26.
‘Losing It’ is about an actor called Jack (played by Nick Wears) who it seems is lost for words. Now he's also lost his leading lady – and the way things are going, he's also losing the plot and he feels he might be on the verge of losing his mind too!
The other comedy ‘CCTV’ is set in the security control room of The Oaks Shopping Centre, Rich is coming on duty for the night shift, relieving Alex and Jane, two other guards. It is, it seems a ordinary evening at The Oaks – until the arrival of Keith, a robber of quite breath-taking incompetence, intent on robbing the shopping centre.
The plays start at 7.30pm and tickets are available from the 4U box office on 01348 873421 at £6.
