Pint-sized plays will be performed in Fishguard this month.

Now in its sixth year at Theatr Gwaun, the Pint sized Script Slam, which is live on Saturday September 28 at 7.30pm, showcases six winners and four runners up from this year’s international short play writing competition – where the audience gets to vote for the favourite script.

The ten plays, each lasting about 10 minutes, are in intriguing, fun and downright hilarious – and the winning writer gets the coveted Pint-Pot, with a Half-Pint for the runner up. There are also prizes for best performance.

Tickets cost £6.50 on the door. For more information visit www.its4u.org.uk or call 01348 873421.

Pembrokeshire-based, Pint-sized Plays has now launched its first collection of scripts from the first four years of its writing competition.

Pint-sized Plays is now recognised as one of the leading international competitions for short 10 minute plays attracting hundred of entries each year from as far away as Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

With a foreword by John McGrath – Artistic Director of the National Theatre Wales – the book contains 20 scripts, winners and runners up from the competition all of which are available to be performed.

Originally written to be performed in pubs, the plays can be simply staged and performed by no more than three actors.

Pint-sized Plays Organiser, Derek Webb, said: “It’s very gratifying that with the book only just published we have already had enquiries for performances and that’s great news for the writers, many of whom had their first taste of stage success from entering the competition.”
