If the first pre-season training session is any guide Cardigan Rugby Club can look forward with optimism to a new campaign in the WRU League Two West.
Under newly-appointed director of rugby Nigel Smith and forwards coach Marc Philli8ps around 30 plays attended the first session at King George V Playing Field when the new man at the helm Smith said he was “extremely encouraged” by the response and looking forward to working on various aspects.
Although there are no new arrivals as yet there are rave reports over a number of youth products preparing for their first season in senior rugby. These include exciting outside half Simon Edwards, all-action flanker Sion Owen and centre Jack Hogan.
Training is held on Tuesday at 7pm when a welcome is extended to new players.
