A brand new project has been launched to promote Ceredigion as an ideal destination for equine tourism.

Economic development company Menter a Busnes, which is based in Aberystwyth, has received funding from the Welsh Assembly Government’s Rural Development Plan to promote Ceredigion as a destination for holiday makers and their horses.

A meeting is to be held during April for anyone in the south of the county who might be interested in the project.

Menter a Busnes’ Rural Projects Co-ordinator for Ceredigion, Sara Downes said: "We’re really interested in hearing from anyone who feels they could be a part of the project. Ceredigion is a superb destination for Equine tourists; with bridle paths through stunning scenery, from the ruggedness of the Cambrian Mountains to the beaches of Cardigan Bay.

"The Ceredigion Holidays with Horses project proposes to link accommodation providers throughout the county, and promote the facilities available through the medium of a website, which will be widely publicised and promoted in equine circles."

Anyone who is interested in the development of this project, or who could provide accommodation for horses and their riders, are welcome to attend a consultative meeting at the Brynhoffnant Inn, Brynhoffnant at 7:30pm on Thursday 16th of April 2009.
